Are You Secure?

“You shall not go out with haste, … for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be you rear guard” (Isaiah 52:12).

Security from Yesterday.

“… God requires an account of what is past” (Ecclesiastes 3:15).

At the end of the year we turn with eagerness to all that God has for the future, and yet anxiety is probably going to arise when we remember our yesterdays. Our present enjoyment of God’s grace tends to be lessened by the memory of yesterday’s sins and mistakes. But God is the God of our yesterdays, and He allows the memory of them to turn the past into a ministry of spiritual growth for our future. God reminds us of the past to protect us from a very shallow security in the present.

Don’t live in the past learn from It

Philippians 3:12-15 (NLT)
I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be. No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven. I hope all of you who are mature Christians will agree on these things.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-15
1. To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:
11: He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
14 know that whatever God does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken from it. God does it, that men should fear before Him. 15 That which is has already been, and what is to be has already been; And God requires an account of what is past.

Hebrews 13: 7-9 “Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods,” (NIV)

Security for Tomorrow.

“… the LORD will go before you … .” This is a gracious revelation—that God will send His forces out where we have failed to do so. He will keep watch so that we will not be tripped up again by the same failures, as would undoubtedly happen if He were not our “rear guard.” And God’s hand reaches back to the past, settling all the claims against our conscience.

We are to send out His forces which means we have been given the authority to do so.

Daniel 10:12 “God sent a messenger at Daniel’s request but it took time because of the war in the heavens” Galatians 4:4 “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.”
Daniel 6:22 “My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me,“

When the angel couldn’t get through IN Daniel 10:12 God sent another one. Be patient don’t think He has not heard you but in all things keep your request’s in front of you. Keep a prayer journal so you don’t forget and then record the praise report as well when you see the manifestation of the answer.

Security for Today.

“You shall not go out with haste … .” As we go forth into the coming year, let it not be in the haste of impetuous, forgetful delight, nor with the quickness of impulsive thoughtlessness. But let us go out with the patient power of knowing that the God of Israel will go before us.

Our yesterdays hold broken and irreversible things for us. It is true that we have lost opportunities that will never return, but God can transform this destructive anxiety into a constructive thoughtfulness for the future.

Let the past rest, but let it rest in the sweet embrace of Christ. Leave the broken, irreversible past in His hands, and step out into the invincible future with Him.

Security
Job 24:23-24, “He gives them security, and they rely on it; Yet His eyes are on their ways. They are exalted for a little while, and then they are gone. They are brought low; they are taken out of the way like all others; they dry out like the heads of grain”
